Thank you for choosing XK3102-0108 portable dynamic railway overweighting
indicator. It is very easy to use and
operate XK3102-0108. But in order to install ａnd operate safely ａnd accurately, also
make full use of all the equipped features, we recommend you read this manual
carefully before using.

1. Brief

Acceleration of overloading vehicles is the important reason for road damage, in a
result, traffic police department enhances the remediation of overloading. In order to
meet the implementation of the "Rules ", as per the standards of vehicle axle type and
axle load quality made by Traffic department, we’ve developed a portable dynamic
overload axle detector that is consistent with our managing standards. This helps a lot
for traffic department to implement effective management for overload.
2.Features：
◆ There’re two kinds ,single ａnd dual channel models, among which dual-channel can check the
partial load factors.
◆ Good dynamic detecting performance, high accuracy.
◆ Backlit dot matrix LCD display, clearly visible during the day ａnd night
◆ Chinese character display ａnd print, user’s interface is extremely friendly.
◆ It can easily input a complete car number including the name of province, municipality.
◆ It can input the name of the detecting company ａnd the operator.
◆It equips with a printer,and after detecting, it will print a testing voucher.
◆ Automatically judge whether the car has been overloaded.
◆ It can store the detecting records for about 1300 units of cars.
◆Complete retrieving ａnd statistical functions.
◆ Changeable for AC/DC, displayable for the capacity of battery which can work for about 40
hours. It can also turn off automatically.
◆ The electric source(lighter) of car can supply electricity or charge it.
◆ The detecting indicator can work separately or upload the testing data into the computer as it
has complete interfaces.

The one that connect with load cells is a 4-core plug base, using 4 lines. The feet are
distributed as follows:

②.12V ,the interface of car electrical source(optional) is a 3-core plug base, ａnd the feet are

The plughole is the one of earphone. While charging, please plug in the hole with the equipped
charger.
5.Using method of indicator
I.Turn on
Before turning on the indicator, please assure that there is no vehicle ａnd people on it.
(1)Turn on the indicator, it firstly displays ”welcome”.
(2)After 10 seconds, it enters into detecting state ａnd displays as follows:
The right figure of battery displays its capacity.
Please charge it on time while the electricity is nearly used up.
Note: It is only a approximate ratio for the black part of battery’s figure ａnd the left capacity of it!
II. Detecting
Every time, the ones that must be input while detecting are TRUCK(car number), Axle(axle
type).
The ones that only needs to be input at the first time are operator, detecting route.
The one that is optional to be input is detecting number.
The following will separately illustrate how to input the above

（1）Input “TRUCK”
Press “TRUCK”, cursor lights ａnd stops at the first number of “TRUCK”:
TRUCK: 000000 Axle：0000 Operator：00
Input the car number as the following format: XXXXXX
XXXXXX is the car number, including letters ａnd numbers, among which numbers can be input
directly ａnd the letters can be input by pressing the key “2”: firstly press the key that displays the
letter, then press the key that this letter is positioned(1 or 2 or 3). For example, if you want to input
“A”, please firstly press the key【ABC】，and then press 【1】; Another example, if you want to input
“E”, you only need to press【DEF】, ａnd then press【2】. If you’ve made a mistake on inputting, you
could press ”CE” to input it again.
Examples: If you want to input A40856, please to press“ABC”“1”“4”“0”“8”“5”“6”.
If you want to input AF4058, you only need to press “ABC”“1”“DEF”“3”“4”“0”“5”“8”.
After confirming, if there’s no mistake, please repress “TRUCK”; but if in contrast, please press
“CE” to revise.
（2）Input Axle
Press【Axle】，cursor lights ａnd stops at the first number of “Axle”:

As per the axle type of the detected car, please input the numbers in turn. If the car is of 3 groups
of axles ａnd the axle types are 1(single axle), 5(double axles with two wheels), 5(double axles
with two wheels), you need to input”155”. After confirmation, please repress 【Axle】, or please
press 【CE】to revise it.

（3）Setting for the operator number
Press 【OP】,cursor lights ａnd stops at the first number of operator:

Input the operator number, confirm that there’s no mistake, then press【OP】again, or press【CE】
to revise.
（4）Setting for detecting number
Press【SN】, the upper part of the indicator will keep the same, but the nether part changes into the
following:
（Original serial number）
If you don’t want to revise it, directly press【SN】to exit; otherwise, input the new serial number(6
numbers at most), confirm it ａnd then press【SN】once again, or press【CE】to revise it.
This system doesn’t always need to set up the operating number; if you don’t set up, it will
automatically add “1” after the original number. While being turned on the power, the value is the
one when it was turned off last time.
（5）Setting for the detecting route
Press 【Route】,indicator will display:
（Original serial number）
It means that the detecting route is the road No.104. You can input it as per the following
principles: code of the road level (1number: national road is 0, provincial road is 1, country and
village road is 2), road code(3 numbers). For example, 324 provincial road, you just need to input
1324. After inputting, press 【Route】,indicator will change to display miles.
（Original serial number）
Input the miles of current position, then press【Route】, all the setting for the route is finished.
（6）Truck detecting
Model 1: for every detecting, you must set the TRUCK ａnd Axle(four axles are the most, double
axles is considered into one group of axle, so the tri-axle). Operator number, detecting route needs
to be set up once on turning on the indicator. The other parameters commonly don’t needs to be
set up ａnd the above settings need to be done before truck is on the scale. After all the axles have
passing over the scale, indicator will automatically print the detecting voucher ａnd simultaneously
indicates the detecting results:

when you turn on the indicator. Other parameters commonly needn’t to be set up ａnd the above
settings need to be done before the truck going over the scale. After all the axles have passing
over the scale, indicator will automatically print the detecting voucher. Note: Axle type is
automatically tested by the indicator ａnd don’t need to be set up. Double -axle is considered to be
two axles ａnd tri-axle is considered to be three axles. The number of axles is not limited while
truck going through the scales. Simultaneously it indicates the detecting results:

3.Other functions of indicator
(1) Display of EMS memory
Press 【NO】, the following part of the indicator will display the stored detecting times ａnd the
largest memory capacity(one time for one truck):
Memory used：169/1300
Molecule indicates the stored detecting times while denominator stands for the largest
memory capacity (624 or 1300 times).
Pay attention to the usuage of EMS memory in case of being used up so that the detecting
data cannot be stored. Please clear EMS in time while it is near to be full. See the following.
(2) Clear the stored detecting data
While indicator is full or the stored data is not needed, please clear the weights.
Press 【TC】, the upper row of indicator keeps the same but the nether row will present:
If you want to ｄelete it, press 【TC】again, otherwise, press the other key.
Note: the indicator will provide a reliable protection, if electricity is cut down, the data will
not be lost ａnd it needs to be cleared by man.
(3)Clear the stored detecting data
If you find that detecting data don’t need to be stored, press【DEL】, the upper row of indicator
keeps the same but the nether row will present:

(4) Reprint the test report
(a)Reprint the missing report
If vehicle drives through the scale without printing the report because of any reasons, press【print】
so that you can reprint a report of this vehicle. Simultaneously, indicator will display the relevant
test result.
(b)Inquiry/print the weight of every time
This function is to inquiry or reprint the weighing report, ａnd inquiry by reverse order.
Press Last】, the display shows the test results of each time in reverse order. If the record needs
to be printed, press【Print】, then you can print out a complete test report.
Every time when you press Last】to display the next single test record, after it shows the weight,
it will also display the "End record. " If you want to stop the single display, just press 【zero】.
(c)Print summary as per operators
The function is used to summarize every inspectors’ testing records. First, you need to set up
inspectors to be printed, ａnd then press 【SUM】【OP】【Print】, the printer would print
all the records of that inspector.
(d)Print summary as per date
Print summary of that every day: Press 【SUM】【Date】【Print】(year is marked with 2 digits,
so is the following).
Print summary of that every month: Press 【SUM】【Date】【Date】【Print】.
Print summary of the other dates: press【Date】【××××××】【Date】, among which ×××××× are the
collect dates, then press 【SUM】【Date】【Print】.
(e) Print multi-parameters report
Statistical parameters sometimes are two or more, for example, if you need to print the collect
records of some inspector for a certain day, that is to say, it does the statistics according to two

statistical parameters－－-inspector ａnd date. This system provides a function to print the summary
of multi-parameter, ａnd these functions usually only appear in the micro-computer system.
After setting up the statistical parameters, press【SUM】【Parameter 1, Parameter 2…】【Print】
to finish.
For example: If you want to print all the testing records of Jack(Operator No.06) on 28
March,2002. There’re two parameters: operator No. ａnd date, operations are as follows:
Set up the operator No.: press 【OP】,【06】,【OP】.
Set up the statistical date.: press 【DATE】,【020328】,【DATE】.
Input the order for classified statistics: press【SUM】【OP】【DATE】【Print】
It’s not so hard for users to analogize how to print the reports of the other combinable parameters
as per this example.
Note: If the date has been reset when you print the summarized report, in this case, the real
date has been revised, you need to change it back in case of the wrong date.
(f)Zero
If there’s no goods on the scale, but it doesn’t display ０ or the light of Zero doesn’t light,
please press【Zero】to make it display ０ ａnd also the Zero light lights. 【Zero】can also unlocks
the axle weights. Note: range of zero is 2%F.S.
(g) Display/Set up the time

Indicator are with calendar function. Press【date】,it will show present date ,if not modify the date,
press【date】to exit the date showing, or input new date ａnd press 【date】.For example
2000.3.28,you need to input“000328”

Note :If input wrong date or time(input less than six numbers or input incorrect value),no need to
modify date or time, with long alarm voice, will be back to normal weighing state.
The clock of indicator are with rechargeable battery. After turn off the power, it could sustain six
months, charging automatically after turn on, if battery failed, time, date ａnd previous weighing
date will be lost, but it will not affect weighing precision ａnd other setting parameter.
6.Auto off instruction
The indicator are with automatic shutdown function. If no operation over 30 minutes, the indicator
will shut down automatically, if open backlight, the backlight will be off after 30 seconds, but the
key operation will automatically resume backlight.
7. Using of road detective software.
It is very convenient to use road detective software, after enter into corresponding procedure,
operate according to presentation. For details, see software instruction.
8 Charging ａnd external DC power supply
Insert output cable of the charging module which matched into the charging jack of the indicator,
you can charge the battery inside the machine. It needs about 5 hours to be full, then the charge
indicator will be changed from red to green. The indicator built-in lead-acid battery should be
charged timely in order to avoid over discharge damage.
The indicator also allows the use of a 12V car battery to power ａnd charge, you should buy a
cigarette lighter which is suitable with your car, then weld the three core air plug wire which is
factory configuration to the cigarette lighter (note polarity), just connect the indicator with cigarette
lighter when using.
Note: must be shut down to protect the hardware circuit ａnd battery when charging.
9 Attentions when using
1) Every time, when open the power supply, you must ensure no vehicles ａnd pedestrians on the
scale platform;
2) In order to ensure accurate detection, speed should not exceed 10km / h , the slower the
higher detection accuracy;
3)When weighing, vehicles should keep as much as possible constant speed ａnd vertical to pass,
should avoid braking, fuel door, changing the direction of movement;
4) When button operation, do not use excessive force to extend the life of membrane switch;
5) To extend battery life, pls turn off the backlight during the daytime;
6)Forbid the rain ａnd use chemical solvents to clean the surface of the indictor;
7)Try to avoid direct sunlight on LCD display to extend their life;
8) Indicator is precision instruments, should be handled with care, is strictly prohibited to throw.

Appendix. Input method of User name
The indicator of this system allows the user to enter the name of the user units not more than
nine letters of the alphabet, in the future, each detective list will be automatically marked with the
name of the user. This indicator uses the area code input method. Special needs: input of user
name is not required, input or not does not affect the indicator work properly; the input is a one-off,
enter the permanent preservation, so the general inspectors do not need to ｍaster this part.
A. Input the company name
(1) Press【TIME】,then input the codes: “950518”，at last, press【TIME】again to input the name
of company, in this case, the weight light turns off to wait to be input.
2)input letter according to zone bit code. For example, if you want to input ”China”, checked from
list: the area code of "C" is 0335, "h" is 0372 "i" is 0 373 "n" is 0378,”a "is 0365. Input the zone bit
code of each work in proper order. After input 4 numbers (one English letters of alphabet),the
highest digital of the weight window will add one automatically, after finish this, press [time] to exit.
Note: Please do not enter the user name input state randomly, otherwise it will cause
the loss of the original name!
