the prosoft technology mvi56-gsc module is a fast and easy way to add two fully configurable ascii communication ports to the controllogix platform without consuming the front port of the processor.

the mvi56-gsc module is a single slot, backplane compatible solution for the allen-bradley controllogix platform. this module has two powerful and fully configurable ascii communication ports, each supporting the sending and receiving of large ascii character strings. with the implementation of some supporting ladder logic in the controllogix processor, the many different devices supporting ascii communications can be integrated into the controllogix platform.

prt1 and prt2 are jumper configured for direct or multi-dr-op field communication via rs-232/422/485. prt 1 & 2 (the two ascii ports) are configured independently, allowing the module to operate using many different configurations. once configured via the ladder logic, the module will support the movement of ascii character strings to/from the controllogix processor"s data space.
