产品介绍：The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell ａnd cell-matrix interactions. Galectin 9 is an S-type lectin ａnd an eosinophil chemoattractant （ECA） produced by antigen-activated T cells. Galectin 9 is involved in apoptosis, is thought to be a prognostic factor for breast cancer ａnd is also overexpressed in Hodgkin＇s disease tissue. The protein has N- ａnd C- terminal carbohydrate-binding domains connected by a link peptide. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.Subcellular Location : Cytoplasm. Secreted. Note=May also be secreted by a non-classical secretory pathway.Tissue Specificity : Accentuated expression in liver ａnd thymus of embryo, detected in embryonic heart, brain, lung, liver, ａnd kidney. Highly expressed in adult thymus, small intestine, ａnd liver, ａnd to a lesser extent in lung, kidney, spleen, cardiac, ａnd skeletal muscle. Barely detectable in brain ａnd reticulocyte. The isoform Long is expressed exclusively in the small intestine.Similarity : Contains 2 galectin domains.Subunit : Contains 2 galectin domains.Homodimer.
