产品介绍：This gene encodes a secreted, homodimeric glycoprotein that is expressed in a wide variety of tissues ａnd may have autocrine or paracrine functions. The gene contains a 5＇ UTR rich in CAG trinucleotide repeats. The encoded protein contains 11 conserved cysteine residues ａnd is phosphorylated by protein kinase C exclusively on its serine residues. The protein may play a role in the regulation of renal ａnd intestinal calcium ａnd phosphate transport, cell metabolism, or cellular calcium/phosphate homeostasis. Overexpression of human stanniocalcin 1 in mice produces high serum phosphate levels, dwarfism, ａnd increased metabolic rate. This gene has altered expression in hepatocellular, ovarian, ａnd breast cancers. [provided by RefSeq].STC1蛋白实在哺乳动物中发现的糖蛋白激素,参与机体的多种生理功能,不但可以通过肾脏和肠道系统来调节钙和磷酸盐的稳态,而且在促进脑神经元的终末分化、防止因大脑局部缺血造成脑神经元的损害、以及骨和肌肉的发育等方面也有重要作用.近来研究发现,STC-1在人类肿瘤的发生发展中也有着重要的作用.STC-1可作为一种稳定因子促进新生血管的成熟而发挥促肿瘤增殖生长，还可通过自分泌途经与肿瘤细胞表面的趋化因子和整合素相互作用,激活一系列细胞内信号,引起多种蛋白分泌,从而溶解细胞外基质屏障,使肿瘤发生侵润和转移。
