产品介绍：Defensins form a family of microbicidal ａnd cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 1, an antimicrobial peptide implicated in the resistance of epithelial surfaces to microbial colonization. This gene maps in close proximity to defensin family member, defensin, alpha 1 ａnd has been implicated in the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis. The mature form of Beta defensin 1 is 36 amino acids.防御素在动物体中广泛分布的，目前已知的α－防御素有6种，研究人员从动物体的肾脏、气管、鼻粘膜与唾液中也发现了两种β防御素，在许多器官的上皮细胞与非上皮组织的细胞中发现了β－防御素。防御素的表达与病原体的入侵是紧密相关。
