肾小管上皮细胞在肾脏功能中有着重要的作用。它重吸收原尿中几乎全部的葡萄糖和氨基酸,同时排泌其它非营养物质进入终尿。然而,它也是许多先天性疾病、代谢性疾病和炎症的主要损伤部位。PTEpiC能分泌炎症介质如细胞因子和趋化因子,以及通过产生IL-8或直接趋化白细胞参与急性炎症反应。移植肾炎症和新月体肾炎中PTEpiC表达IL-2R alpha和MHC-Ⅱ类抗原,这说明肾小管上皮细胞有能力参与肾免疫损伤的发生。为了能够研究肾小管细胞和多种肾疾病之间的关系,PTEpiC的培养提供了很好的体外模型。 人肾小管上皮细胞(HRPTEpiC)提取于人肾脏组织,原代冻存。每管含有细胞数>5×105 cells/ml,此细胞通过CK-18, -19, and Vimentin免疫荧光染色验证,经测试不含有HIV-1、HBV、HCV、支原体、细菌、酵母和真菌。细胞可以达到15倍增。

Renal proximal tubular epithelial cells (PTEpiC) play a crucial role in the renal function. They reabsorb nearly all of the glucose and amino acids in the glomerular filtrate, while allowing other substances of no nutritional value to be excreted in the urine. However, they are also a major site of injury in a variety of congenital, metabolic, and inflammatory diseases. PTEpiC can produce inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and chemokines and actively participate in acute inflammatory processes by effecting and directing leukocyte chemotaxis via the production of IL-8 [1, 2]. PTEpiC express IL-2R alpha and MHC class II antigens during inflammation after renal transplantation or in crescentic glomerulonephritis indicating the capacity to participate in the pathogenesis of immune renal injury [3]. To be able to study the relationship between tubular cells and a variety of renal diseases, the PTEpiC culture provides a useful in vitro model.
HRPTEpiC from ScienCell Research Laboratories are isolated from human renal tissue. HRPTEpiC are cryopreserved immediately after purification and delivered frozen. Each vial contains >5 x 105 cells in 1 ml volume. HRPTEpiC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to cytokeratin-18, -19 and vimentin. HRPTEpiC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HRPTEpiC are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings in the conditions provided by ScienCell Research Laboratories.
